CPDP hosted a training session for students from the Academy of the Ministry of Interior

On 18th of December 2017, the Commission for Personal Data Protection hosted a training session for lecturers and fourth year students – Bachelor degree in Public Administration” at the Academy of the Ministry of Interior.
The training session began with familiarizing the participants with Directive (EU) 2016/680 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data by competent authorities for the purposes of the prevention, investigation, detection or prosecution of criminal offences or the execution of criminal penalties, and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Council Framework Decision 2008/977/JHA. The programme followed with an introduction of Regulation № 1 of 30 January 2013 for the minimal level of technical and organizational measures and the admissible type of personal data protection, as well as elements of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation).
Special attention was paid to the planned by CPDP events for the raising of public awareness in 2018, as well as the preparation for the 40th international conference of data protection and privacy authorities.
CPDP was represented by Eng. Stoyan Tsanov, head of Planning, Training and Project Management” department, Mr. Tsvetan Ivanchovski, head of Control and Administrative Penal Procedures” department, Ms. Ralitsa Naumova, senior expert of Registry and Archives” directorate, Mr. Vladimir Yotov, senior expert of Legal Affairs, International Cooperation, Planning and Training” directorate, and Mr. Hristo Alaminov, chief expert of Planning, Training and Project Management” department.
The event was well received amongst the participants.
