Model Letters for Requesting Information from SIS II
Every individual has the right to submit a request to the Commission for Personal Data Protection to inspect personal data related to him/her, stored in the Schengen Information System II, as well as to receive information about their usage. If the data is entered by another Member State, the Commission for Personal Data Protection will carry out an inspection in close cooperation with the Data Protection Authority of this Member State.
Every individual could submit a request to the data controller (in this case - the Minister of Interior) or to the Commission for Personal Data Protection, which would relay the request to the Ministry of Interior.
The requests could be submitted to the Commission for Personal Data Protection in person or by explicitly authorised individuals with notary certified power of attorney, in the following ways:
- at the Registry of the Commission for Personal Data Protection on the following address: 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., Sofia 1592
- by sending a letter to the following address: Commission for Personal Data Protection, 2 Prof. Tsvetan Lazarov Blvd., Sofia 1592
- by fax– 029153525;
- via e-mail – the request have to be signed with an e-signature.
For their convenience, the individuals could submit a request to the Commission for Personal Data Protection using the model letters.
