Joint Supervisory Body of Europol
The Europol Joint Supervisory Body is created on the ground of Art. 34 of the Council Decision 2009/371/JHA of 06 April 2009 establishing the European Police Office (Europol) in order to examine the Europol activities to ensure the observance of the individuals’ rights by the storage, processing and use of data and to monitor the permissibility of the transmission of data originating from Europol. The Joint Supervisory Body is composed of a maximum of two members or representatives of each independent national supervisory bodies, having the necessary abilities and appointed for five years by each Member State.

The Bulgarian representatives in the Europol Joint Supervisory Authority are the members of the Commission for Personal Data Protection- Mariya Mateva and Veselin Tselkov.
